Lamadi Hospital

Lamadi is a town and ward in the Busega district of Tanzania. With a regional population of approximately 250,000, many residents lack access to healthcare facilities. Dr. Stephen Kebwe in Tanzania and Margareth Awiti in the United States have begun a joint effort to create a hospital to serve the population. The hospital will include a clinic specifically designated for providing free healthcare to low-income women and children, a traditionally underserved demographic.

The total hospital project will cost TZS 300 million (t-shillings), or approximately USD 131,000. Over three-quarters of those funds, or TZS 220 million, have been raised through private contributions thus far. PSA has agreed to partner with the Lamadi Hospital Project to raise funds for a maternity clinic to be constructed on the hospital property. We believe the hospital, and especially the clinic for women and children, fits perfectly with our mission.

The PSA fundraiser for the maternity clinic is now live on GoFundMe! Click below to donate!
